SOURCE CHECKED 2026-10-16 / iea-2025-v1
A correction is part of the record.
Permanent receipts should stay checkable after the current website changes.
16 October 2026 — iea-2025-v1
Prepared the first source-versioned receipt release. The same dated IEA annual quantities are retained; this is a product/method presentation revision, not a newly measured increase in water consumption.
Added clear estimate/scenario boundaries, an annual-volume caveat, reproducible receipt links and a full calculation table. The source checked date is separate from the 2023 reference year and 2025 publication.
The IEA report published 14 October 2026 has different exposure percentages in its summary and body/chart. That unresolved percentage is not used as a headline or a replacement for this volume series.
How future changes are handled
Freeze the original release; explain what changed, why and when. A new source, formula or boundary gets a new labelled revision. Newly discovered old information is a correction/backfill, not a new construction event.
